Stream & Riparian Restoration

For more than 15 years, Watershed Consulting has been revitilizing steams and riparian areas through out the West. Our in-house expertise and strategic alliances with other companies allow us to lead every element of stream restoration, including initial impairment analysis, habitat inventory, channel morphological survey, land use impacts assessment, biological monitoring and creating and implementing engineered restoration design.

By considering natural geomorphological
components of a stream, incorporating native vegetation
community structures, soil considerations, land management needs and the native biota, our stream restoration approach promotes beneficial ecological processes, allowing nature to restore
itself. We are especially adept at modifying site and soil conditions to accelerate natural recovery processes
and have an in-house Rosgen-trained heavy equipment operator.

We are actively involved with the research and development of techniques that enhance the
biological and physical integrity of streambanks and riparian areas, having produced several manuals
on revegetation techniques.  We also manage our own nursery to ensure the best quality and most appropriate plants for the project site and objectives.
