Client: Vodni Zdroje Chrudim and Ing. Miloslav Sindlar
After catastrophic 1997 floods, the Czech Ministry of Environment decided to develop a rational geomorphic and hydrologic framework for "revitalization" of stream channels. Watershed Consulting evaluated a newly developed Czech process-based stream channel classification system and suggested minor changes. Our work has resulted in a professional visit of private sector Czech scientists and engineers to Montana, a Watershed Consulting presentation on stream restoration to the Czech Ministry of Environment, and an on-site evaluation of existing engineering water works in the Czech Republic. We have contributed expert testimony to the Czech government that helped to change their watershed management policy. Watershed Consulting will continue to partner up with Czech companies on future restoration projects in the Czech Republic.
