Faulty placement and insufficient size of the Blue Mountain Road culvert on O'Brien Creek caused channel degradation and frequent flooding that compromised fish passage from the Bitterroot River. Watershed Consulting designed a channel reach capable of passing bankfull flows and allowing fish passage on this portion of O'Brien Creek. A new bridge replaced the insufficient culvert. The installation was done by Missoula County.
