A unique resident population of Lahontan cutthroat trout exists in the hydrologically closed Summit Lake system in northwestern Nevada. Watershed Consulting surveyed and analyzed both lacustrine and spawning stream habitat conditions. Variables studied included water chemistry, channel habitat variables, substrate, and hydrology. Impacts of stream road crossings were also evaluated.. A General Aquatic Wildlife Survey protocol (USFS, 1989) was used to quantify stream habitat variables. Stream fish population densities were collected and quantified. Lahontan cutthroat trout spawning run data was analyzed and quantified, including tag return data.
