The main channel of Dunham Creek, a bull trout stream, was trying to break into an old, abandoned ditch nearby. Previous rip-rap attempts to prevent the main channel abandonment were only partially successful. Watershed Consulting surveyed the stream, calculated the proper channel pattern and hydraulic geometry for the given runoff pattern, and designed and oversaw channel rehabilitation using rootwad bank stabilization. The rootwads provided excellent scour pool fish habitat with an overhead cover.
