Native Plant Revegetation

Restoring the ecologic integrity to your land is what we do best. Watershed Consulting offers a full range of revegetation and erosion control services. We design projects to restore native vegetation to disturbed sites such as riparian areas, eroding slopes, abandoned placer and hard-rock mine tailings, gravel pits, severely burned sites, and road obliteration projects. We have a native plant nursery to supply appropriate shrubs and trees for your project. We do the on-the-ground work as well, leaving no gap between assessment, design and implementation.

Our approach identifies the factors that limit plant establishment and combines this information with an understanding of the ecology and physiology of specific plant species. We can also ameliorate toxic or lifeless soils. Our techniques attempt to pattern and accelerate natural recovery processes, for example, we use bio-engineered structures that capture stream silt loads, providing a germination substrate for on-site seed sources.

We often use bioengineering techniques to stabilize steep slopes or control erosion and mass wasting and promote soil water infiltration. Bioengineering refers to the use of living structures to stabilize soil and add vigor to the disturbed site.
