COMMUNITY CAPACITY BUILDING

Watershed Consulting works with many community, collaborative and watershed groups to help build the capacity these efforts need to carry out long term planning and implementation for forest and watershed based projects. This work includes everything from facilitating meetings and providing planning assistance to actual assessment and implementation work. On the policy front, Watershed Consulting engages with regional and national efforts working to maintain and expand those state and federal programs that fund much of the work we and our community partners accomplish on the ground. Watershed Consulting is more than just a natural resource consulting firm; we believe it is important to be engaged on many fronts with our partner communities.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

Watershed Consulting’s staff have been providing educational and training experiences throughout its 15-year history. Landowners and community groups who are well informed about the ecological processes of their forests and streams are much more likely to be good stewards of these ecosystems and the environmental services they provide. Often our site visits for private ownerships become mini trainings. Our staff have been involved in educational and training activities for many years.
